Stress: High levels of stress disturb the normal functioning of the body and alters the hormone levels which in turn causes acne.
Excess oil: Oily skin is always more vulnerable to acne as the oil builds up under the skin causing skin problems. Choose skin products that suit your skin type in order to maintain acne free skin.
External triggers: Certain triggers can cause the formation of acne on the skin. For eg: For a particular person, acne might be triggered due to the consumption of spicy food. This is very subjective and varies from person to person
Underlying health conditions: Sometimes, acne can be the consequence of other underlying health conditions such as PCOD. Any medicine that contains corticosteroids, testosterone or lithium can have side effects which include the formation of acne.
