The Constitution Of A Healthy Body #RightToHealth
Table of Contents
The constitution is built on the primary tenet of giving structure to the government. It is the constitution of a country, which establishes the three main organs of the government; namely, the legislature, executive and judiciary, according to which the people are to be governed. The constitution of our country defines the functions & powers allotted to each of these three main organs, and helps to keep a check and balance on each other. It ensures that no one is placed above the law of the land.
The constitution is not just a recipe book for an efficient government, but it is also an authoritative living document which dictates the limitations of powers the government can yield on its people.
Out of all the constitutional rights given to us, the right to freedom is the most profound right any human being could ask for. This includes the freedom of speech, and the freedom to live & choose our destiny. Our Constitution protects individual freedom, and its fundamental principles govern the country. It is the source of the Liberty we enjoy as citizens of India.
Similarly, the human body has a constitution of its own which regulates the different organs to function in coordination with each other and ensure healthy living.
Healthy Mind
In a world where we are flooded with a constant push for getting in shape, going to the gym, to look more desirable, we tend to forget the key connection between the body and the mind. A popular quote usually attributed to John Lennon of The Beatles goes like this, “When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life".
What it essentially means is that, happiness acts as an important key to healthy living. A healthy mind & body go hand in hand. Happiness comes from within and once we find true happiness it only adds to our life.
Healthy Heart
A Healthy Heart beats longer, beats louder. Exercise, good diet & regular checkups are crucial for a healthy heart. However, most of us tend to forget these basics. When the heart skips a beat not for love but as a cry for help, to tell us to change our lifestyle, it is then that we realise the importance of a healthy heart. The constitution of a healthy body gives us the right to choose good health. It is we who can choose to live long & healthy lives or suffer the consequences of a sick & dying heart.
Healthy Skin
Our skin is the largest organ in the body, and it goes through a lot. Ranging from daily pollution to wear & tear, & ageing. We should always choose our Right To Health and give our skin the nourishment & protection it needs. Healthy skin not only adds to our overall charm, but it also protects use from external harm.
Healthy Immune System
Our immune system does a remarkable job in defending us against disease. However, like any password it can sometimes fails: Germs can invade the body successfully and make you sick. A strong & healthy immunity can be gained by keeping a regular check on our internal firewalls. Avoiding smoking & regular alcohol abuse is the first step to building up immunity. A heathy immune system will keep you safe & sane for years to come.
The beauty of the human body is that it has the capacity to heal itself, if given the right time. The constitution of our body governs the functions of all organs & organ systems with exquisite precision. It is upto us as a citizen of the constitution to choose our #RightToHealth
