Quite a few times, you wrongly blame time for everything that goes wrong in your life as you feel like 24 hours is not enough for you to get things right. However, you fail to realize that people who roll in the big leagues are also given the same 24 hours but they never fail to bring their ‘A’ game on.

So what is it that sets them apart? Habits. Good habits are the key to a good life and as our forefathers rightly said, “It is never too late to develop a habit.”

So read on to know about the little daily habits that build a bridge between the dreamers and the achievers.

**They wake up early: **When the rest of the world is busy dreaming, the successful people are awake, sipping coffee, figuring out stuff and working towards their ultimate dream. This is where they draw the line. Getting up early is a total game changer in the success scenario as it gives you a sense of control over your inner voice (yes, the one that’s asking you to hit snooze and sleep for 5 more minutes) Once you have control over your inner voice, you can direct it in your personal and professional endeavours because eventually, the only person coming in the way of you being successful is you.

Apple CEO, Tim Cook wakes up as early as 3.45 a.m to get a kickstart on his day and ensure that he is already ahead compared to the rest of the world.

They plan before they do: Successful people plan their ‘tomorrow’ before they turn the lights off at night. This works because it gives you space and time to prepare yourself mentally and physically for the task you’re about to take on tomorrow and ensures that once you are up, you won’t waste any time in figuring out what to do and how to do it. That means that with a new day, you can directly get to the ‘doing’ part.

They prioritize right: One of the qualities of successful people that set them apart from others is that they do what they know they need to do even if they don’t feel like doing it. Many a time, you waste your day focusing on the tasks that hold little or no relevance and by the time, you get to the tasks that really matter, you give yourself a million reasons as to why you cannot do them. Prioritizing the important tasks means prioritizing success.

“The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule but to schedule your priorities.” -Stephen Covey.

They exercise in the morning: Quite often, you skip exercise for a few extra hours in bed or because you have a lot of work to do and this is what keeps you from joining the ‘A1 club’. Exercise in any form (aerobics, jogging, gym, sports) is known to clear the head, increase alertness levels and maximize productivity. Need some more points? (now you are just being greedy.) Exercising gives you the well-deserved sense of accomplishment and positivity to take on anything and everything that comes along during the day.

**In an interview with Men’s Health, Barack Obama said he ****works out **for 45 minutes, six days a week.

They read a lot: Successful people believe that reading is the ultimate means of learning and knowledge. According to Business Insider, a study of 1,200 wealthy people found that they all have reading as a pastime in common. However, in this case, the term ‘reading’ implies to education and self-improvement. 1 page a day or 1 book a day, reading is an investment which will pay off dividends in the long run.

When Warren Buffett was once asked about the key to success, he pointed to a stack of nearby books and said, “Read 500 pages like this every day. That’s how knowledge works. It builds up, like compound interest. All of you can do it, but I guarantee not many of you will do it.”

They spend quality ‘me’ time: Tom Corley, author of ‘Change your habits, Change your life.’ says that “The rich tend to think in isolation, in the mornings and for at least 15 minutes every day.” Quality time with yourself is important to catch up with everything that is going on in your life. You can use this time for focused thinking, figuring out the next steps, managing your emotions, reading, leisure activities, etc. If you are in a good space, your life will be in a good space.

“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” — Abraham Lincoln

Reading time is up. Now’s the time to think, do and turn your life around. Remember, it’s never too late to form a habit.

Good luck!
